24 Nov 2017: PWD Career Carnival, Skill and Innovative Product 2017 was held on November 24, 2017 (Friday) at Grand Ballroom, Hotel Aloft KL Sentral, Kuala Lumpur. The carnival was officiated by YBrs. Mrs. Paeza Rosdi, Deputy Director General, Labor Department of Peninsular Malaysia (JTKSM).
The carnival was to promote the role of KSM as the Chairman of Employment Committee of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (MKBOKU) in providing employment opportunities, skills training and employment support systems to PWD in Malaysia. The carnival was also held to ensure that PWD are actively involved in the country’s development in line with the Persons with Disabilities Act 2008 and the principle of inclusivity of the PWD in the Eleventh Malaysia Plan.
About 1000 visitors attended this carnival comprising PWD job seekers, exhibitors, employers, public and private university students, government departments/agencies and private and also public.
19th Nov 2018 : The "MOHR Strategic Plan Retreat" event was held on November 17th to 19th, 2017, at the Pullman Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. It involved the top management from all the Ministries and included the Secretary Generals, Deputy Secretary Generals, Under Secretaries, Head of Departments and Agencies of those ministries.
The objective of the event was to evaluate the current achievements, analyze the implementation gaps, and to examine the effectiveness of the strategies, initiatives and programs that had been set. Also included in its aims was the identification of the issues, challenges and constraints to achieve the set targets and for the implementation of the strategies, initiatives and programs that have been set.
A total of 15 proposals on improving the strategies, initiatives and programs as well as measures to address the challenges and implementation constraints were discussed. The resolutions from the event will be discussed and handed over to Human Resources Minister in the near future.
Human Resources’s Gema Puisi Programme was held on November 22nd, 2017 at MOHR Multipurpose Hall with the theme of “Memartabatkan Bahasa Kebangsaan”. The programme filled with poetry songs and poetry presentations related to the theme. It was the first such programme organized by MoHR.
Also present, Pn Asriah binti Abdul Hafid, Director-General of Public Service Department 2015 Speech Champion from JTK Sabah performing her poetry during the event, as well as representatives from CUEPACS.
YBhg. Dato’ Mohammad Elias Bin Abu Bakar, Deputy Secretary General (Operations) also attended the programme and presented token of appreciation to all participants.
Abdul Razak Abdul Rajak from ILP Labuan who competed in the "Plumbing & Heating" Category, won the Prime Minister's "Golden Hand 2017" award. He received RM10,000 in cash prize with a trophy and a certificate. The prizes were distributed by the Works Minister and Minister of Human Resources at the Prime Minister's Golden Hand of the 2017 Gold Award ceremony held at MAEPS, Seri Kembangan.
At the function, the Works Minister and Human Resource Minister also jointly launched the "Road to WSCAsean 2018" Program in preparation for the "WSCAsean Skills Competition" to be held at Bangkok in May 2018.
The Prime Minister's Golden Hand Awards Ceremony 2017 is the highest award among all the awards given to the winners at the World Skills Malaysia Youth Category (WSMB) 2017 Competition and involves 22 different skills. The meeting was held in August in many locations.
